The Neuropsychology of Interactions network moves its first steps from the intuition that the wealth of knowledge acquired thanks to cognitive neuroscience research on motor interactions holds a great potential to be applied in the clinical field.
Deficits in social interaction may represent a transdiagnostic domain with specific biological roots and perspectives of intervention in both neurology and psychiatry: this hypothesis can only be explored by challenging the patients with truly interactive tasks.
Bringing interaction to the clinical field thus requires the development of new instruments for the assessment and rehabilitation of the different sub-components of interaction.
In the long term, the network aims to achieve this ambitious goal through interdisciplinary collaboration between researchers and clinicians.
